The International Fugitive win rate (~1.3%) shows how rare the Mexico finish actually is — roughly 1 in 77 players who join ever reach the border. The Hardened Criminal badge (~0.44%) is even rarer: only players who escape Mexico while under maximum police heat earn it.
How the checkpoint fantasy reads
The state badges imply a southbound escape corridor: Kansas → Oklahoma → Texas → Mexico. That matches the published fantasy of fleeing the country. Use Map and Locations for route habits, not spoiler pin dumps. Treat checkpoints as readiness gates: if you cannot pawn cleanly and manage heat, forcing Texas pride runs will farm wipes, not badges.

Hard flex badges without griefing yourself
- High Roller ($50,000 held, ~2,019 earners): farm through Cash Farming and Loot Priority. Holding cash is not the same as surviving with cash — inventory discipline (F, X) still matters.
- FDI Most Wanted (~235,549 earners): heat is a system, not a vibe. Read Police Heat Levels before you intentionally climb.
- Hardened Criminal (~37,481 earners): escape to Mexico while at police level 5. That is an Escape Loadouts problem, not a chat-dare problem.
- Getaway Driver (~5,700 earners): see Getaway Driving. Miles compound across sessions; do not wreck every car for clips.
