RUNAWAYS Roblox RUNAWAYS Equipment Guide
Backpacks, armor, explosives, and consumables that keep your escape on track.
Equipment in RUNAWAYS extends beyond weapons. Backpacks expand your loot capacity, armor absorbs damage, explosives crack vaults, and consumables keep you alive during chases. This guide covers every equipment category in the Roblox [beta] by supercat games, explains when to use each item, and helps you build efficient loadouts for robbery, vault, and border runs.
For tool rankings, see Best Tools. For inventory management, see Inventory Tools. For loadout planning, see Escape Loadouts.
Equipment categories
Backpacks
Backpacks determine how much loot you can carry. More slots means more value per robbery run, but also more weight and slower movement.
| Backpack | Slots | Source | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small Backpack | +2–3 | Class loadout (Scout, Smuggler, Gang Member) | Lightweight, fast |
| Medium Backpack | +4–5 | Class loadout (Breacher, Juggernaut) | More capacity, slight speed penalty |
| No backpack | Base slots | Brawler, Old CEO, Contractor, Bounty Hunter | Relies on base inventory |
Backpack management tip: do not fill every slot. Keep 1–2 slots empty for high-value loot you find mid-run. A full bag means walking past S-tier items. See Loot Priority for what to keep versus drop.
Armor
Armor reduces incoming damage from police, NPCs, and other players. It does not make you invincible — it buys time.
| Armor | Effect | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Light Armor | Moderate damage reduction | Medic class, buyable in-game |
| Medium Armor | Higher damage reduction | Higher-tier shops or progression |
Armor degrades with use. Do not rely on it as a substitute for disengage skills. Read How to Escape Police for movement-based survival.
Explosives
Explosives crack vaults and breach obstacles. They are loud, attract police, and require careful timing.
| Explosive | Use | Source |
|---|---|---|
| C4 | Vault breach, obstacle destruction | Breacher class loadout |
| Grenades | Area denial, crowd control | Buyable in shops |
C4 is the primary vault tool. Place it on vault doors, step back, and prepare for the breach. The explosion attracts police immediately — have an exit plan before detonating. See How to Crack Vaults for full breach strategy.
Consumables
Consumables provide temporary benefits during a run.
| Item | Effect | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Medic Bag | Heals health over time | Medic class carries 2 |
| Medkit | Instant health restore | Found in locations, buyable |
| Ammo Packs | Reload ammunition | Various types for different guns |
Medic Bags are the Medic class specialty. Drop one behind cover and heal while police lose your trail. Medkits are faster but rarer. Always check your consumable count before starting a vault breach.
Attachments
Weapon attachments modify gun behavior. Attach them with Q before a fight, never mid-chase.
Known attachment types:
- Suppressors — reduce noise (less police attraction)
- Extended mags — more shots before reload
- Scopes — improved aim at range
Attachments are situational. A suppressor on a robbery sidearm reduces heat generation. An extended mag on a vault breach weapon gives more shots before the critical R reload. See Guns and Combat for combat mechanics.
Loadout templates
Robbery loadout (short loops)
- Weapon: One melee (Crowbar for breaking) or light sidearm
- Backpack: Small (from class) — keep it light
- Consumable: One Medkit for emergencies
- Empty slots: 1–2 for loot
Goal: hit 2–3 targets, pawn, repeat. Speed over capacity.
Vault loadout (high-risk spike)
- Weapon: Primary firearm + melee breaker
- Explosive: C4 for vault door
- Armor: Light Armor if available
- Consumable: Medic Bag + Medkit
- Backpack: Medium for loot capacity
Goal: breach, grab S-tier loot, escape before police stack. See How to Crack Vaults.
Border loadout (final push)
- Weapon: Reliable sidearm only
- Armor: Light Armor for the checkpoint fight
- Consumable: Medkit
- Backpack: Light — dump everything that is not S-tier
- Empty slots: Maximize for speed
Goal: reach Mexico alive. Strip to essentials per Escape Loadouts and Escape Checklist.
Equipment buying priority
- Classes first — they come with loadout equipment built in
- Armor second — survival investment that pays off every run
- Consumables third — Medkits and ammo for vault attempts
- Cosmetics last — weapon skins and vehicle paint do not help escapes
Spend CREDZ on classes before buying individual equipment pieces. Classes bundle multiple items at a discount.
Inventory discipline
Equipment is useless if your bag is full of junk. Practice these habits:
- Open F inventory before leaving a robbery zone
- X drop anything below A-tier on Loot Priority
- Keep attachments stored with Q until needed
- Do not carry backup weapons you will not use
Detailed inventory management: Inventory Tools.
Common equipment mistakes
- Carrying C4 on a robbery-only run (extra weight, no vault target)
- Using Medic Bags during a chase instead of behind cover
- Forgetting to attach mods with Q before a breach
- Dropping armor to make room for low-value loot
- Buying cosmetics before essential consumables

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for RUNAWAYS heists, escapes, and gear.
What equipment should I buy first?
Classes come bundled with equipment. Buy Smuggler or Scout first, then individual consumables and armor.
Is armor worth buying?
Yes for vault and border runs. Light Armor absorbs enough damage to survive mistakes that would kill unarmored players.
How many backpack slots do I need?
For robbery loops, 2–3 extra slots from a Small Backpack is enough. For vault runs, use a Medium Backpack from Breacher or Juggernaut.
Should I use suppressors?
Yes for robbery runs — less police attraction. For vault breaches, extended mags are usually better since the breach itself is loud.
