Run these steps in order. Most players fix the issue by step three.

1. Open the official RUNAWAYS place page. If Roblox.com itself loads, the platform is up.
2. Check the Roblox status page for outages. Game client errors sometimes inherit from platform incidents.
3. Confirm your Roblox app is up to date on desktop, mobile, or console.
4. Try the experience from a different network (mobile data vs home Wi-Fi).
5. Restart the Roblox client fully — task-kill it on mobile, not just close.

Reading the in-game errors

Track live stats to tell “the game is down” from “the game is popular”:

• Concurrent players — when this spikes, slot scarcity rises. Plan shorter sessions.
• Total visits — long-term growth indicator; not a same-day outage signal.
• Group members (supercat games) — community momentum; not server health.
• Last experience update timestamp — if it is stale by weeks, no new client patch is queued; an outage is more likely platform-side.

Network and client hygiene

Most intermittent join failures come from local setup, not the game:

• Pause downloads, cloud sync, or streaming on the same network
• Move closer to the router for Wi-Fi tests
• On mobile, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular to isolate the path
• On console, fully power-cycle the device once before deeper troubleshooting
• Update the Roblox app — old builds trigger handshake errors after platform upgrades

What is NOT an outage

Some things that feel like outages are actually working as intended during early access:
