RUNAWAYS Roblox RUNAWAYS Police Heat Levels

Treat heat as a meter you manage — not a random cutscene you blame.

Police Heat Levels

Police pressure is the tax on success in RUNAWAYS [beta]. Official badges prove heat is leveled: FDI Most Wanted awards when you reach police level 5, and Hardened Criminal awards when you escape to Mexico while still at police level 5. This guide teaches how to think about that meter without inventing undocumented HUD labels that may rename mid-beta.

Core companions: How to Escape Police, Escape Checklist, Escape Loadouts, Badges and Checkpoints. Controls for chases: Click/Touch, C crouch/slide, X drop, E equip, R reload only behind cover, F inventory only when clear.

What we know from official badge text

  • Police heat has levels, and level 5 is a named peak.
  • Reaching level 5 is itself a badge (FDI Most Wanted).
  • Escaping to Mexico at level 5 is a separate flex badge (Hardened Criminal).
  • Loud crimes — especially vault breaches (Heist badge) — are heat generators in the fantasy loop.

We do not invent exact siren timers or undocumented “star” icons. If the live HUD uses different wording, trust the live HUD and re-check Beta Notes.

Heat as a decision framework

Think in three bands:

Low heat — farm and convert

Short rob and pawn circuits, inventory hygiene, tool shopping for Best Tools. Avoid ego vaults if the lobby is already contested (Crowded Servers).

Mid heat — choose a lane

Either cool down with quieter movement and pawn conversion, or commit to a planned vault with an exit (How to Crack Vaults. Mid heat is where most players greed-wipe: one more storefront, one more fight, one open-street reload.

Level 5 / peak heat — specialty mode

At peak heat you are either:

  1. Surviving toward a normal Mexico push after cooling tactics, or
  2. Attempting Hardened Criminal on purpose with a true escape kit.

If you did not choose (2) before the meter topped out, stop roleplaying. Slide (C), dump junk (X), break sightlines, and rebuild. Common Mistakes covers pride chases.

Climbing heat on purpose (badge hunters)

Want FDI Most Wanted? Loud vaults, prolonged police contact, and contested fights raise heat — but so does dying broke. Climb with a plan:

  1. Secure a breaker and mobility role first.
  2. Clear bag space (F / X).
  3. Stage near an abort route you actually know (Map and Locations).
  4. Accept that level 5 play is slower and more expensive.

Mobile players should read Mobile Tips before intentional heat climbs — thumb fumbles punish peak heat hardest.

Escaping at level 5 (Hardened Criminal)

This is not “drive south and hope.” Requirements implied by badges:

Practical prep:

If the lobby is a 50-player warzone, postpone the flex. Growth spikes make Hardened Criminal rarer for a reason — see Growth Snapshot.

Heat hygiene habits that always transfer

  • Never reload (R) in door silhouettes after a vault boom
  • Never open F mid-chase
  • Prefer slide lines (C) over highlight gunfights (Guns & Combat)
  • Pawn before your bag becomes a billboard
  • Abort earlier than your ego wants

Heat is a resource. Spend it for badges or spend it for Mexico — rarely both in the same unplanned life.

What is the max police level?

Badge text confirms police level 5 as the peak named tier (FDI Most Wanted).

How do I get Hardened Criminal?

Escape to Mexico while at police level 5. Build an Escape Loadout and practice driving and disengages first.

Should beginners climb to level 5?

No. Learn pawn loops and normal escapes first. Peak heat is a specialty goal.
